P7 - Mr. J Lagan

Welcome to Primary 7

My name is Mr Lagan. Our classroom assistants this year are Ms. O’Halloran and Ms. McGrath. We are delighted to have 19 incredibly talented and respectful children in our class.

This will be a special year for our P7 boys and girls as they will celebrate their Confirmation.

In P7 children will have the opportunity to work together and independently on many activities linked to the NI Curriculum. Children will develop many thinking skills and personal capabilities which they will be able to use both inside and outside of school.

This term in Literacy P7 will be reading ‘Carrie’s War‘. Children will complete a number of writing pieces and comprehensions linked to our class novel. They will also be exploring a variety of grammar, punctuation and spelling in line with the NI Literacy framework.

In Numeracy this term P6 will be looking at Place Value, Fractions, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division as well as 2D and 3D Shape, Time and Data Handling.

The term 1 topic for P7 is called World At War, which is about World War 1 and 2 and how the world is still at war today.

Primary 7 will have two PE sessions this term with one of those being swimming lessons. Swimming lessons will take place on a Tuesday afternoon and the other school based PE lesson will be on a Thursday afternoon.

Each evening children will have Literacy, Numeracy, Spellings, Times Tables and AR tasks to complete. Homework should be returned to school every day to be marked.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead.
